UN Human Rights Council Sessions


  • UN Human Rights Council session 37 convenes in Geneva from 26 February to 23 March 2018. Member states will discuss the human rights situations in Myanmar, Eritrea, Burundi, Syria, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Mali, Libya, Yemen, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Israel. Reports will be presented by Special Rapporteurs on human rights in Iran, in North Korea, in Myanmar, and on human rights defenders, on freedom of religion, and on cultural rights. A report on the database of business enterprises engaged in Israeli settlements in the Palestinian occupied territories will be presented. Renewal of mandates for the Special Rapporteurs on Iran, Myanmar and more will be considered at this session; new independent experts will be appointed as mandate holders on freedom of association and assembly; promotion of truth, justice, reparation; indigenous peoples; human rights in Mali and others.
